How your baby's growing: (from BabyCenter.com )

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

Starting to feel a bit off balance? As your belly grows, your center of gravity changes, so you may begin to occasionally feel a little unsteady on your feet. Try to avoid situations with a high risk of falling. Wear low-heeled shoes to reduce your risk of taking a tumble; trauma to your abdomen could be dangerous for you and your baby. You'll also want to be sure to buckle up when you're in a car — keep the lap portion of the seat belt under your belly, drawn snugly across your hips, and also use the shoulder harness, which should fit snugly between your breasts.

You may also notice your eyes becoming drier. Using over-the-counter lubricating drops may help. If your contact lenses become uncomfortable, try wearing them for shorter stretches of time. If you still have discomfort, switch to glasses until after you give birth
.

** Can I just say that the balance deal...coming in hot and heavy for this one!  I would have guessed that my balance would be pretty stable being that I am so close to the ground already, but nope.

Week 15 - A Colorado Adventure!

Week 15 is a little different! We went to Colorado for the week and stayed with some great friends, Eric & Lori Chester, while we hunted. This was Marquette & BabyO's first elk hunt!!! It was a really exciting time.

Kyle had been chasing this elk (he named him Big Daddy) for 3 seasons. When we first arrived and Kyle saw him he said "Well hello old friend". You could almost feel them sizing each other up! Kyle and I stalked him all week and finally early Sunday (9/16/12) we had him in view, watched him, and Kyle got the shot! It was a rush of emotion for us both, but for Kyle it was the day he had waited 3 years for!

We had some delays throughout the day, one being it was stinkin hot and we had to get the meat down off the mountain and to a game processing place asap. The delays and the fact that we were in the bottom of a steep canyon led to a 15 hour day of retrieving him out of the bottom.

It was exhausting hauling that Big Daddy out of there, but oh so worth it.

So sorry for no belly picture this week, but we were really excited to have our first elk hunt as a family! One day Kyle will look back and tell our little one "See this big boy, he is your first elk" :)
