We Took a Honeymoon!

Monday, April 2, 2012

After we got married in October things were beyond busy. We moved to North Dakota and jumped right into a heavy work load, which led to no honeymoon. Until...March 15!

We left Williston, ND at about 8:00pm on the 14th to head to Denver, CO to catch our flight to St. Lucia on the night of the 15th. We got to spend the 15th in Denver catching up on some very important things...like shopping :) Ok, so Kyle had lots to do for business stuff....But while Kyle did that Marquette shopped and got her nails done (you know the necessities before a trip to the Caribbean)  We caught our 11:55pm flight to Miami from Denver and landed in Miami at 5:00am and then had a 5 hour layover and off to St. Lucia we went!

Our awesome passport covers :) Except PB messed up Kyle's.
But Kyle is a trooper and kept it anyway!

When we landed in St. Lucia our resort, Anse Chastanet (pronounced Anz-Shasnee) had a car waiting for us and took us on a two hour drive to the southwest side of the island. Marquette gets car sick, so going through the tiny winding roads made for an...interesting...drive. But it was beautiful.
Along the drive we saw the Pitons up close.

We finally got to our resort and were greeted with a local fresh fruit punch and a cool mint towel. It was refreshing after the 2 hour drive and we knew our week was going to be one of fun and relaxing. We had our own little cottage that was set into the mountain side. It was so beautiful and relaxing. We really enjoyed our room and the amazing view it had of the Pitons and the ocean.

And by night :)
Here are a few more pictures from our trip....

On the ocean floor!! WE LOVED SCUBA DIVING!!!

We feel so blessed to be able to get away and just enjoy each other. We have been so busy and really needed some time just to ourselves. St. Lucia was exactly what we needed at the exactly right time.
